JEM RECORDS SIGNS THE ON AND ONS / TWO SINGLE RELEASE TODAY FROM THE UPCOMING LP “COME ON IN”

JEM RecordsThe On and Ons are a power pop rock band from the "Land Down Under" but they are ready to break boundaries in AMerica - by crikey!

The label are releasing the band's first US album, "Come On In" in January and now two singles are released from it are coming out today, Friday 27.9.2024.

The On and Ons have glorious harmonies, undeniable hooks, and a following that transcends Australia. Powerpopsters here were onto the overseas group right from their beginnings in 2015.

The upcoming album contains new tracks as well as great songs from their Australian LPs, including the #9 Little Steven's Underground Garage Coolest Song of the Year 2023, "Let Ya Hair Down.”

The On and Ons are mainly family. It’s no surprise that they spent a lot of time singing together on songs by the Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and many other artists of that time.

Brothers Glenn Morris (lead guitar/lead vocals/songwriter) and Brian Morris (drums/vocals) grew up in a musical family, and formed the band. Their Brother-in-law Dennis Wilson - is a virtuoso guitar master and Clyde Bramley formerly of The Hoodoo Gurus is the bassist, and the newest to join.

The On and Ons

In the past, the brothers teamed up with The Zeros, a cover band and got handpicked by “King of Power Pop” Paul Collins to be his backing band, The Beat for an Australian tour in 2012. Ironically, Collins is already on the JEM label.

Mark Mulligan of Sydney wrote liner notes that capture the musical experience of listening to The On and Ons and why they are drawing attention in the U.S.

"I was listening distractedly to a bunch of my favourite tunes from recent years. Several numbers in, a song came on that immediately snapped me out of my COVID torpor. I began to nod my head, play air guitar, bang an invisible drum kit. It made me want to run. Really fast. It was the best feeling. It was The On and Ons. This was the cause of my visceral Pavlovian response. Song after song of purepop joy, rock’n’roll drive and harmonic bliss…” Mark Mulligan.
